B is for bee!

I have a phobia... to be more honest i have more than one phobias! I am afraid of insects and especially bees. The last 6 years as i live in a small town instead of the big city i used to live i have to deal everyday with my fear...especially during summer! Three days ago i had to give a battle with some bees...oh yes a real battle as bees decided to make their home at my balcony's lamp! I was frustrated....my hubby wasn't home so i had to fight with them by myself!  Don't laugh (although it was funny!) with a broom i tried to ruin their home and go back inside as a flash so as not to be stung by them! After four attempts and with my heart beating like a drum  i finally made it but then i felt sad about poor bees...

So to make amends to bees and as the given letter for week 13 at alpha dictionary challenge at craft barn  was B i made a page for them hopping one day i will be brave enough to be friend with them and not enemy. ...

So here is my entry:

I am still practicing with girl portraits so be kind with me...this must be my 7th attempt! Shading and symmetry are my  biggest problems... but i am working on it! I also believe that the watercolor paper of my journal doesn't  help me...Although it is heavy paper it crumbles when i put water on it even small amounts of water....that's why i ordered my first moleskine journal to take it with me during summer vacation hoping to dissolve the problem!

Say Cheese!!!

When i learned that i would have a son i was pretty disappointed.... girls were more cute i thought. Now almost 4 years later i have to say i am in love with my little boy! He is so so cute and i am a very lucky mummy!

Sun Kissed

As most of you know when i am working on a layout i prefer white cardstock as a base. When i started scrapping to my two first layouts i used patterned papers but the patterned paper confused me and the final result didin't please me at all....so i decided that white cardstock was best for me.  

Now...almost after 25 layouts  (oh yes i am still a beginner)... i thought it was time to make an experiment and work with a pattern paper as base. I choose a less bold patterned paper and i made a layout full of summer breeze with a photo of my son. I am a very lucky girl, my sister takes great pictures and i always have beautiful photos to scrap on ;) 

With this layout i will take part to Let's get sketchy june 1st week challenge  with this sketch:

and to the "Born to Crop not to Mop" June challenge with subject summer/travels.

Dancing in the rain!

For the week 12 in craft barn the given letter is U. For first time i knew right away what i wanted to make :) So here is my take :

To the last challenge of craft barn my pages was to the wall of fame hooray!!!!!
From know on F will be my lucky letter ;)

Love is in the air....

Love is always a good subject to scrap don't you think??? I have scrapped a photo of my sister and her boyfriend and i really enjoyed it! I am trying to work with watercolor backgrounds that i admire lately to other layouts ... For a first attempt it went well . This is my first A4 layout also....i thought it would be cool to try that too.

With this layout i take part to June 15th sketch challenge of stuck sketch . This is the given sketch:

I added the journaling at the left bottom corner as the A4 paper was too tall i hope that's ok...

So here is my lo:

The felt kite is a handmade embellishment i made and the journaling is lyrics from a greek song which says : "once darkness two together can make it light "

Καινούρια πρόκληση στο SIG!

Kαινούρια πρόκληση τρέχει απο σήμερα στο Scrapbookers in Greece με φοβερό θέμα! Φτιάξτε μια σύνθεση για την αγαπημένη σας συνήθεια και ελάτε να παίξετε μαζί μας ;) 

H δική μου σύνθεση αφορά μια απο τις αγαπημένες μου συνήθειες εδώ και αρκετά χρόνια το διάβασμα... Απο έφηβη το διάβασμα πάντα ήταν το καταφύγιο μου σε όλες τις δυσκολίες. Πλέον μου είναι αδιανόητο να φανταστώ τη ζωή μου χωρίς τους αγαπημένους μου φίλους τα βιβλία.... Αυτή λοιπόν είναι η δική μου σύνθεση :

Και για να μην με περάσετε για τελειώς άσχετη στα αγγλικά το λαθάκι στο journaling το είδα μόλις ανέβασα τις φωτογραφίες και το έχω διορθώσει απλά δεν βρήκα τον χρόνο να τραβήξω καινούρια φωτό :( ...και εδώ κολλάει το γνωστό όποιος βιάζεται σκοντάφτει!

Το ξέρω πως έπιασαν οι ζέστες αλλά λίγο πριν τις καλοκαιρινές σας διακοπές βγάλτε τα χαρτάκια σας και τα ψαλιδάκια σας και δείξτε μας ποιά είναι η δική σας αγαπημένη συνήθεια.  Μια τυχερή θα κερδίσει και ένα δωράκι ;)

Skissedilla Sketch #214

Lately i made a gift to myself a new scanner-printer machine of canon which i really love. One of the reasons i bought it was to scan the photos of my childhood and scrap them.... You see although i am not "that" old when i was a child technology was ages behind. Digital photos was "science fiction"  so all the photos i have are printed photos which i am afraid to play with . With my new scanner - printer i can reproduce my valuable photos and play with them without fear ;)

The first photo i decided to scrap is a photo of me and my older sister. I love this photo is so representative of 80s!!! Oh these photos make so melancholic... time elapses through my eyes.

With this layout i participate to Skissedilla Challenge sketch #214 which is absolutely amazing!!!! ( i fell in love with the torn paper spots!).

Flip- Flop frenzy !!!

Although i am a winter type there is one thing i really love in summer....flip flops!!!! I made a layout about that for white with 1 June challenge which is : white+coral+decorative edges.

F is for fertile...

For the 11th week of alpha dictionary challenge at Craft barn the given letter was F a word between Fe and Fr.  When i first read the challenge i didin't notice that the word should be between Fe and Fe and i made a page with the word fairy... When i was about to link it i saw the twist ...so i made a second one ;) reminding to myself that i should read more carefully from now on when i want to entry to a challenge! My second word is "fertile" and this is the page i made:

Get Creative: 5th June challenge

Μπήκε το καλοκαιράκι σιγά σιγά και εγώ τρέχω σαν τρελή για πολλούς και διάφορους λόγους....

Για τις 5 Ιουνίου στο Get Creative έχουμε μια πρόκληση με χρωματικό συνδυασμό ;) Το μόνο που σας ζητάμε είναι να φτιάξετε μια καρτούλα χρησιμοποιώντας την εξής χρωματική παλέτα :

Αν και με δυσκόλεψε λιγάκι αυτή η πρόκληση μιας και το μπλέ δεν είναι απο τα αγαπημένα μου χρώματα κατάφερα να φτιάξω μια καρτούλα που στο τέλος πολύ μου άρεσε χιχι. Αυτή λοιπόν είναι η καρτούλα που έφτιαξα εγώ :

Λοιπόν τι λέτε θα παίξετε μαζί μας????

Απο αυτό το μήνα έχουμε και καινούριο μέλος στην σχεδιαστική μας ομάδας χιχι την ταλαντούχα και αγαπημένη μου Ράνια! Ρανίτο καλωσόρισες και απο εδώ ;)
